Vegas Black Pride® was established in 2018 to create space for Black LGBTQ+ visibility, culture, and celebration in Las Vegas. Today, it continues under Reclaiming Us as a wellness-centered Pride experience rooted in community, care, and legacy.

In memory of Juanita Walker, mother of Founder Johanna P. Perez, whose life was taken by gun violence. Her legacy continues through wellness, community care, & youth-centered safe spaces.

Drop the Guns, Pick Up a Ball was created in her honor as a youth wellness and gun violence awareness activation. The plaque and tree reveal remain part of her enduring, and this program has grown into a regional gun violence awareness initiative, expanding beyond Vegas Black Pride®.
