Johanna P. Perez is the visionary founder and CEO of Vegas Black Pride®, a premier year-round wellness initiative powered by the 501(c)(3) parent organization, Reclaiming Us: A Black Pride Wellness Movement. Born in Las Vegas and raised in California, Johanna founded Vegas Black Pride® in 2018 to establish an unshakeable blueprint for community care, shifting cultures, and centering Black queer joy in Nevada.

Since 2001, Johanna has worked directly within the community, providing meals, supporting unhoused neighbors, connecting individuals and families to trusted resources, and creating affirming spaces where people can heal, build relationships, and thrive. Her work is rooted in the belief that wellness begins before crisis and that stronger communities are built through consistent care, trusted connections, and access to opportunity.

Today, Johanna channels over 25 years of advocacy to lead a transformative wellness movement. Under her exclusive leadership, Vegas Black Pride® operates not as a single weekend celebration, but as a continuous, 365-day programmatic vehicle delivering essential community outreach, mental wellness resources, family support, and culturally affirming experiences that impact communities globally.
